On your character sheet you will see a section for aptitudes. These are a mixture of your built in skills and abilities (innate) and those that you have learned over time. Below is a list of all the different aptitudes that are available.
Sleight of Hand
Where an aptitude has a word written within brackets next to the name, that means it is really more than one skill. For instance, you may be skilled in Ranged (Archery), but have no idea how to use Ranged (Firearms). Where the word Specialisation appears, refer to the Aptitudes chapter later in the book for a list of specialisations available.
You begin the game with 40 points spread among your aptitudes any way you see fit. Anyone can attempt to use innate aptitudes without penalty even if they have no points in those aptitudes. That’s not true of the learned aptitudes, which are harder to use without training. So now is a good time to choose some learned aptitudes if it is appropriate for your character. It is unlikely that a chef would have any points in Locking Picking for instance, but they will be a dab hand at Cooking.
