You start the game with 100 XP which you can spend right away, or save up for later.
In Shapers you can spend your hard earned Experience Points on improving your character, either by increasing existing abilities, or learning new ones. Below are the basic XP costs to increase attributes and aptitudes by 1 point. Later in the book you’ll find rules for learning and improving Special Abilities. That’s a whole topic of its own (and a lengthy one at that), so for now we’ll keep things simple and stick to the basics.
Remember, increasing your Primary Attributes may affect your Secondary Attributes, which will need to be adjusted.
|Primary Attribute (excluding Shaping)||New level x 20|
|Shaping||New level x 200|
|Aptitude||New level x 5|
