The Saurians are reptilian people that evolved in a world where they were the dominant intelligent species. The strain of hominid that would later become homo sapiens, never developed. Saurian society and technology grew in parallel and along similar lines to the human version of Earth, with great cities and billions of people across the planet.
The Shattering was as catastrophic for the Saurians as it was for everyone else and now they find themselves in a strange new world, fighting for survival.
Saurian, Chamaeleon
Chamaeleons, as their name suggests, are able to change the colour and tone of their skin at will to match their environment. This makes them very hard to see when naked and motionless. Their coloration may also change to reflect their mood swings, literally turning green with envy or red with anger.
Chamaeleons are bipedal, but with a long prehensile tail which they use to grasp things. They may hold onto items using their tail, but do not possess the dexterity to manipulate objects with it or make attacks with it. Their tails are helpful when they wish to climb, as they are able to use both hands, feet and their tail to grip onto surfaces.
The last distinguishing feature of the Chamaeleons are their eyes. They each possess large protruding eyes that can move independently from each other. This gives them an excellent field of vision and due to the structure of the eye itself, enables them to focus on objects with much greater clarity than other species. As the eyes move independently, they are also able to maintain focus on two different objects simultaneously.

Saurian, Gekkota
Gekkota are the smallest of the Saurian species, being slightly shorter and more slender than an average human. They are bipedal, but with a long vestigial tail. The most remarkable aspect of Gekkota physiology are their fingers and toes. The surface of each digit is covered in microscopic hairs, called setae, which gives the Gekkota an incredibly strong sticky grip. They are literally able to stick to things, even walls and ceilings, which is the reason why you will never find a Gekkota wearing shoes or gloves.

Saurian, Komodo
Komodos are the largest of the Saurian species and even with a stooped appearance (they use their massive tail to balance), they still stand well over 2m tall. Despite their size (and strength) they are no less intelligent or quick witted than their smaller cousins.
Komodos often settle disputes amongst themselves by a form of ritual combat. This is usually to first blood for anything but the most serious of disputes. Weapons of choice include claws (they have sharp taloned hands and feet), teeth (the bite of a Komodo is venomous!) and glaives (a large bladed polearm).
Within Saurian society there is an order of Komodos that call themselves The Dragons. They are more warlike than their fellows and believe themselves to be descended from the mythical dragons of old. They see themselves as protectors of true Saurian society and do not hold with the modern spirit of cooperation with the warmbloods.
